As a dog owners and nature lovers Chris and George have travelled to Central Asian Countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Uzbekistan in 2018 for summer to see one of the last remaining nomadic cultures with ultimate sustainable lifestyle in the world. This is where Sarluck brand was founded a green sustainable company supporting sustainable livestock agriculture. Yes even today a hefty part of Central Asians are still living today as nomads heavily depending on their livestock like sheep, goat, cow, beef, camels and yak.

Most of the Central Asian Region is hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter, with January averages dropping as low as −40 C (−40 F). What we have discovered is with these harsh winters Nomads dry up their meats and dairy goods for winter. Drying allows longer shelf life for the product. There are many varieties of dried diary goods made from yoghurt, cottage cheese, curds cheese that not only we enjoyed it, and so is our dogs.

Unfortunately, with an increase in adverse weather conditions due to climate change are damaging sustainable agriculture in the Region, and more and more nomads giving up their lifestyle and culture, leading to population decline in rural area. Our Sarluck team wants to contribute our effort to support local farmers to live self-sustaining lives.

We partnered with sustainable farmers all around the world where our chews were made care and love.
